Talking to Parents About the Sexual Health and Wellbeing of Their Children
Join us for a virtual free CE training session on how we as counselors can better engage with our clients regarding the sexual health and wellness of their children.
During our time together, we will touch on several topics related to sexual health and what is considered “within normal limits” during different developmental stages.
Areas discussed will include parental resistance to discussing sex, human development, pornography, masturbation, finding healthy expressions of sexuality, and legal/ethical responsibilities we have as counselors.
The goal of this training is to provide counselors with the information and skills necessary to discuss these difficult subjects with the families or parents they work with.
This training will be led by Mauricio Verduzco, an LPC licensed in the state of Texas and a member of the SHW Alliance. Additionally, Mauricio was the point person for a multi organization effort to provide resources to families of students at risk for teen pregnancy in a Travis County high school.
There will be two opportunities to join us live for this, and you’ll receive links for both when you sign up: May 2, 2024 9am - 10:30am CST and May 4th, 2024 10am - 11:30am CST.
